Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Nite-Lite Landscape Lighting, Inc. ("NiteLiteOS", "we") collects when you use niteliteos.com and the NiteLiteOS app, and what we do with it.

Who we are dealing with

• Contractors (our customers): the lighting businesses that subscribe.
• Their clients (homeowners and property owners): people a contractor sends a proposal, design fee, or invoice to. We process their information on the contractor's behalf.
• Visitors to niteliteos.com.

What we collect

• Account information: name, business name, email, phone, address, logo, and the settings you enter.
• Customer Data you enter: drawings, site photographs, fixture and price lists, proposals, customer names and contact details, notes, schedules, and invoices.
• Payment information: subscription payments are processed by Stripe; we store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, not card numbers. Client payments go through Stripe Connect; we receive the amount, status, and last four digits, never the full card or bank number.
• Signatures: when a client signs a proposal we record the typed name, the time, the IP address, and a hash of the document, so the signature can be verified.
• Email connections: if you connect a mailbox to the desk feature, we store an encrypted app password and read message headers and bodies from that mailbox to produce task summaries. We do not send mail from it.
• Usage and technical data: log entries, browser type, pages used, and error reports, to keep the service working.
• Cookies: a login session cookie, and preferences saved in your browser (for example a remembered tab). We do not run advertising trackers.

How we use it

To provide the service, bill you, send transactional emails (proposals, receipts, reminders, alerts), support you, prevent fraud and abuse, improve the product, and meet legal obligations. Aggregated, de-identified statistics (for example how many proposals were sent across all customers) may be used in our own materials and, where a manufacturer participates in the catalog, in reports that never identify a contractor or a client or reveal a contractor's prices.

AI features

Some features (for example reading a site plan for house and driveway outlines, drafting task lists from connected email, or producing a rendering) send the relevant image or text to an AI provider (Anthropic, and for renderings fal.ai) to produce the result. Only the data needed for that request is sent; it is not used by those providers to train their models under our agreements with them. These features run only when you ask for them.

Who we share with

• Service providers that run the service: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Anthropic and fal.ai (AI features described above), and Google (if you connect Google services). Each may only use the data to provide its service to us.
• Your clients, when you send them a proposal, fee, or invoice.
• Manufacturers or distributors in the catalog receive only aggregated statistics as described above, never your prices or client details.
• Legal: if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or the service.
• Business transfer: if the business is sold or merged, data transfers with it under this policy.

We do not sell personal information.

Retention

Account and Customer Data is kept while your subscription is active and for 30 days after it ends so you can export it, then deleted from live systems, with backups expiring on their own schedule. Signed proposals and payment records are kept as long as needed for legal and accounting purposes.

Your choices and rights

You can update or export your data in the app, or ask us to delete your account by emailing us. Clients of a contractor should direct requests about their information to that contractor; we will help the contractor respond. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your information; email us to exercise them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers; access to each business's data is enforced at the database level so one business cannot see another's; secrets such as mailbox passwords are encrypted before storage. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you suspect a problem.

Children

The service is for businesses and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

We will post changes here and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
